My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist means providing all of my clients who can become pregnant with unconditional support. It means helping them find the resources they need and providing support with whatever stage of their journey they are on, whether they are still struggling with a decision, trying to find services, or processing the whole experience afterwards. It means being part of a network of people who share the same values and believe everyone deserves control over their body.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Reproductive justice and body autonomy are very personal to me as a person with a vagina. I believe that every person who can become pregnant has the right to no longer be pregnant at any time for any reason. The consequences of forced pregnancy and labors are serious and help to perpetuate cycles of poverty and intimate partner violence. This needs to change and I want to be a part of that, as much as possible.
