My Pro-Choice Perspective
What being a Pro-Choice Therapist means to me:
Being a pro-choice therapist means seeing the client as a person first who has bodily autonomy and respecting their right to be their own decision maker.
Why I think bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are important:
Consent is important to people everywhere. Bodily autonomy is concurrent with consent. I have my own story about my OB not respecting my own bodily autonomy and receiving last rights as he refused to give me a life saving abortion until my fever was 110 due to a retained placenta from my 3 day old son.
